A detailed look at how DfGpsr SW – GPSR Compliance for Shopware 6 works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.
The GPSR, mandatory since 13 December 2024
The General Product Safety Regulation (EU 2023/988) applies to almost all non-food consumer products sold in the European Union. For online sales, every offer must state the manufacturer (name, postal address, electronic address), the responsible person established in the EU when the manufacturer is based outside the EU, and the warnings and safety information in the language of the targeted country. Marketplaces already enforce it and market surveillance authorities can sanction non-compliant shops.
What DfGpsr SW does
The plugin adds a GPSR custom field set to every product: manufacturer, EU responsible person, rich-text warnings, safety information and a list of documents. This data is displayed automatically on the product page, right after the description, in a clean and readable block. When a product has no specific data, the plugin uses the defaults defined in the global configuration — per sales channel.
Built for real catalogues
Selling your own brand? Enter the manufacturer once in the configuration and the whole catalogue is covered. Distributing several brands? Fill in the fields on the relevant products and the global fallback handles the rest. Products outside the scope of the regulation can be hidden with a single switch. Warnings are translated per product through Shopware's language switcher, and the storefront block labels already ship in five languages.
Compatible with 6.5, 6.6 and 6.7 without a build
DfGpsr SW is deliberately built without custom admin components and without storefront JavaScript: only PHP, Twig and Shopware's native configuration. The result: no build, no dependencies, and a single ZIP that installs identically on Shopware 6.5, 6.6 and 6.7 — including the new 6.7 administration.
