Legal Guarantee of Conformity 2 Years — Installation and configuration
Install and configure the module that displays legal warranty notices (2-year conformity, hidden defects, post-repair extension) on your PrestaShop 8 and 9 product pages.
This module displays the legal warranty information notices required in France on your product pages: legal guarantee of conformity (2 years), guarantee against hidden defects and post-repair warranty extension. The texts are pre-written, translated into five languages and fully editable.
Requirements
- PrestaShop 8.0 to 9.x
- PHP 7.4 to 8.3
- Multistore compatible and compatible with themes based on the classic theme
Installation
- In the back office, open Modules > Module Manager, then click Upload a module.
- Select the module ZIP file and start the installation.
- Once installed, click Configure.
The module automatically registers its hooks and pre-fills the texts in every language installed on your store.
Configuration
The configuration page is organized into two panels: Display and Notice texts.
Display panel
- Enable the module: turns the block on or off across the whole store.
- Location: choose where to show the block on the product page (see the next section).
- Show an icon: displays a small scale icon before the title.
- Notices: independently enable or disable the legal guarantee of conformity, the guarantee against hidden defects, the post-repair extension and the commercial warranty.
- “Learn more” page: link a CMS page (terms, warranty conditions); a link then appears below the notices.
- Restrict to categories: limit the display to specific categories. Leave empty to show everywhere.
Notice texts panel
Each notice has its own field, editable language by language: block title, legal guarantee of conformity, guarantee against hidden defects, post-repair extension and commercial warranty. Edit the text shown in the relevant language tab, then save.
Display locations
Four locations are available:
- Under the “Add to cart” button (additional information): the default, highly visible location.
- Reassurance block: integrates the notices into the theme’s reassurance block.
- Bottom of the product page: shows the block at the foot of the page.
- Dedicated tab: adds a “Legal guarantees” tab to the product page.
The “Reassurance block” and “Dedicated tab” locations require your theme to implement the corresponding hook. The PrestaShop classic theme supports them.
Category restriction
Decree no. 2022-946 requires, for certain product categories, a notice recalling the legal guarantee of conformity. To target those products, select the relevant categories in the Restrict to categories field. The block will then only appear on products belonging to those categories.
Customizing the texts
The default texts cover the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L.217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code), the guarantee against hidden defects (article 1641 of the French Civil Code) and the 6-month post-repair extension (article L.217-13). You can adapt them to your business, for example for second-hand or refurbished goods, from the Notice texts panel.
The supplied texts are templates reflecting the current French legal framework. We recommend having them validated by your legal counsel and adapting them to your business.

- PrestaShop 8 and 9 (legacy architecture, no Composer)
- Multistore: each store keeps its own configuration
- No template override or external dependency
FAQ
The block does not appear on my store
Check that the module is enabled, that the chosen location is supported by your theme, that at least one notice is active with a non-empty text, and that the category restriction does not exclude the tested product.
Can I show the block in several places?
The module shows the block in the selected location. For other needs, contact support.
Does the module slow down the store?
No. It only shows on the relevant product pages and adds no external dependency.
