Yes. AJAX Faceted Filters takes priority over the native faceted-search module and replaces it. We recommend disabling the latter; a back-office warning reminds you if it is still active.

Do I need to edit my theme?

No. The module plugs into PrestaShop's native interfaces and the theme injects the facets on its own. For themes that don't follow the standard, a self-managed mode handles the page update.

Will filtered pages pollute my SEO?

No, and that's a key strength. You decide which facets are indexable, cap the number of indexable combinations, and everything else is served as noindex/follow with a clean canonical.

Does filtering work on the search page?

Yes. On top of category, brand, supplier, new-products, best-sellers and specials pages, the facets apply to search results while respecting PrestaShop's native ranking.

Is it suitable for large catalogs?

Yes. A dedicated price index speeds up the slider, and a short-lived counter cache, auto-invalidated on every catalog change, absorbs the disjunctive counting load.

AJAX Faceted Filters turns your listing pages into instant navigation. By relying on PrestaShop's native Search Provider, the module lets the core and theme handle AJAX, product-list updates and browser history. The result: no override, no duplicated listing logic, and maximum theme compatibility. The front end stays lightweight and runs on vanilla JavaScript, with no jQuery.

A price slider that builds trust

The price slider shows a product distribution histogram computed from a dedicated price index. That index is maintained in real time by product hooks, and can be rebuilt in batches from the back office or via a token-protected cron endpoint. Each facet's counters use disjunctive counting: selecting one value never wrongly hides the other options of the same facet.

Facet SEO, finally under control

Each facet can be declared indexable or not. Filtered pages then receive index/follow or noindex/follow per your rules, with a configurable cap on the number of indexable values to protect your crawl budget. Links to non-indexable facets switch to rel nofollow, and a normalized canonical tag is generated, de-duplicating the theme's own. A dashboard shows your most-used facets and the share of filtered pages kept out of the index.
