Real auctions, not just a counter
DataFirefly Auction ships with an automatic bidding engine inspired by eBay. The buyer enters the maximum amount they are willing to pay; that ceiling stays secret. The module only displays the minimum bid needed to stay in the lead and bids automatically on their behalf up to that ceiling. The result is a smooth, fair mechanism that requires no constant monitoring from the customer.
Anti-sniping and reserve price
To prevent auctions won at the last second, any bid placed in the final window automatically extends the closing. You can also set a hidden reserve price: until it is met, the lot will not be sold, and the displayed price automatically rises to the reserve as soon as a bidder can cover it.
Automatic closing and winner conversion
A secure cron starts scheduled auctions and closes those that have reached their end date. The winner receives a private, account-restricted voucher that lets them place an order at the exact price they won. Automatic emails notify the outbid bidder and the winner.
Privacy-friendly
The public bid history shows stable pseudonyms (Bidder #1234) instead of real names, staying GDPR-compliant while keeping auctions transparent.
