What it does

The short version.

01

Shoppable lightbox

Pulsing dots placed on each photo: on click, a product card appears with the name, the currency-formatted price and a direct link to the product page. Keyboard and arrow navigation included.

02

Post-purchase upload

Your customers share their photos from their account area. Only buyers with valid orders can submit, and they can only tag products they actually purchased.

03

Official Instagram import

Connects to the Instagram API with Instagram Login: import your latest posts in one click, automatic deduplication, carousel handling, token refreshed automatically on every import.

04

Frictionless moderation

Queue with thumbnails, source and status filters, one-click approve or reject, bulk actions and optional auto-approval for verified customers.

05

Visual hotspot editor

Place product dots directly on the photo: click to create, drag and drop to reposition, product search by name, reference or ID. Positions stored as percentages, responsive by nature.

06

GDPR and performance

Mandatory explicit consent at upload, customer right to delete, images re-encoded in two optimized sizes, vanilla JavaScript without jQuery.

The long version

Everything you'd want to know before you install.

A detailed look at how Shoppable Customer Photo Gallery — UGC & Instagram works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.

§ 01

Why a shoppable UGC gallery

Studio photos reassure, but real customer photos convince. User-generated content (UGC) is perceived as far more authentic than a classic product shot: it shows the product worn, in real life, by real people. By making these photos shoppable — each photo points to the products it contains — you turn social proof into a direct sales channel.

§ 02

Two content sources, one moderation flow

Photos arrive in two ways. Your logged-in customers share their photos from their account area, with the guarantee that they actually bought from you: the form only lets them tag products from their valid orders. In parallel, you import your Instagram posts through the official API: the module fetches your latest posts, skips duplicates and places everything in the moderation queue. Nothing appears on the storefront without your approval, unless you enable auto-approval for customer uploads.

§ 03

The hotspot editor, the heart of the module

From the back office, open any photo and place your product dots directly on the image: one click to create a dot, drag and drop to reposition, an instant search by name, reference or ID to link the right product. Positions are stored as percentages, guaranteeing an identical rendering on mobile, tablet and desktop. On the storefront, the dots pulse discreetly and open a product card with the up-to-date price and a direct link to the product page.

§ 04

Built for compliance and performance

GDPR consent is explicitly requested at every upload, and your customers can delete their photos at any time from their account. Images are re-encoded as JPEG in two optimized sizes so they never weigh down your pages, the storage folder is protected against script execution, and all front-end JavaScript is vanilla, jQuery-free, and respects the reduced-motion preference.
