Do I need to set up a CRON?

No. Discounts rely on PrestaShop native specific prices, with a window aligned to the campaign dates. Activation and removal are automatic, to the second.

Can I target a whole brand?

Yes. Since version 1.1.0 a campaign can target one or more brands: every product of the manufacturer is included automatically, with no need to pick them one by one.

Can the banner show only on promoted products?

Yes. Since version 1.2.0 the "Show the banner on" setting offers three choices: the whole site, the pages covered by the promotion (targeted product pages, targeted category or brand pages) or the promoted product pages only.

Can the banner be more discreet?

Yes. Each campaign picks its size: Standard, Compact (about 35 px high on desktop) or Mini, a single-line strip of about 26 px. The countdown then shows without labels, formatted as 2d 14:05:33.

Can the promotion name appear on the photos?

Yes. The "Badge on product images" option shows the campaign name over the image, in listings and on the product page. The text is translatable and independent from the banner title.

Can the countdown be cheated?

No. It is synced to server time. Tampering with the browser clock has no effect on the displayed timer.

Is the module compatible with my theme?

Yes. The banner is injected in a theme-agnostic way and works with any theme, with automatic content offset.

Is it compatible with PrestaShop 9?

Yes, the module supports PrestaShop 8.x and 9.x.

Flash sale with countdown timer on a PrestaShop store

v1.2.0 · updated 2026-10-01

What it does

The short version.

100% native scheduling

Discounts run through PrestaShop specific prices, aligned to the campaign dates. On and off to the second, with no CRON.

Tamper-proof countdown

The clock is synced to server time, immune to any visitor-side clock tampering.

Badge on product images

The promotion name shows over the photo, in listings and on the product page, without touching your theme.

Precise targeting

The whole catalog, categories (with their subcategories), brands or a selection of products. The banner can be limited to the pages covered by the promotion.

The long version

Everything you'd want to know before you install.

A detailed look at how DataFirefly Flash Sale & Countdown works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.

§ 01

Turn your promotions into flash sales

Set up a campaign in a few clicks: dates, discount, targeting and appearance. PrestaShop applies and removes the promotion automatically, to the second, using native specific prices.

§ 02

Credible urgency, never cheated

The countdown is aligned to server time via an offset computed at load. Changing the browser clock makes no difference: the timer stays accurate for every visitor.

§ 03

Works with your theme, no development

The sticky banner is injected in a theme-agnostic way and automatically offsets content so it never overlaps. Colours, position and copy are set from the back office.

§ 04

Zero maintenance

No CRON to configure, no scheduled task to watch. The module is ready for PrestaShop 8 and 9, multilingual and multistore.
