Our best PrestaShop modules for running a multistore
Six modules that turn PrestaShop multistore into a controllable system: synchronisation, duplication, per-country prices, hreflang and country switcher.
Multistore promises several stores with one back office. Without tooling, it delivers several stores with multiplied work: diverging catalogues, prices copied by hand, language versions cannibalising each other on Google. The right equipment turns the promise into reality.
Sound familiar?
Catalogues that drift apart
A description fixed here, forgotten there: after six months every store tells a different version of the same catalogue.
Duplication as punishment
Populating a store for a new market means copying hundreds of products, images and positions by hand.
Prices with no market logic
Exchange rate times base price gives 9.73 instead of 9.90: unconvincing prices and margins nobody controls.
SEO cannibalisation between stores
Without hreflang, the French store ranks in Belgium and the German one nowhere: your own stores steal each other's positions.

One back office, several stores, one risk of chaos
PrestaShop multistore lets you run several storefronts on one installation: by country, brand or customer segment. But the core only provides the skeleton. Keeping products in sync, driving prices per store, duplicating catalogues, referencing each language version cleanly: all of that is left to you.
Synchronise instead of copying
The difference between a well-kept multistore and a drifting one is automation: products and stock that align between stores, categories duplicated in full with one click, prices that follow a per-country coefficient.
And do not forget the SEO side
Several stores means several domains or languages: without clean hreflang tags, your own stores cannibalise each other on Google. The country switcher takes every visitor to the right store instead of letting them guess.
How to choose
Settle the architecture first
One store per country, per brand or per channel (B2C/B2B): the multistore structure decides everything that follows. Rule of thumb: only separate stores where catalogue, prices or legal framework genuinely differ. Every extra store is maintenance.
Automate before you scale
Two stores can be maintained by hand, five cannot. Set up product and stock synchronisation while the catalogue is small: the rules you define today prevent tomorrow's drift.
Prices are strategy, not conversion
A German price is not a French price times an exchange rate: purchasing power, competition and shipping costs differ. The per-country coefficient with psychological rounding implements a market strategy, not a formula.
SEO: one market, one version, one signal
Without hreflang, your stores compete against each other on Google and the wrong one ranks in the wrong country. Generate the tags automatically per store-language pair and check them after every catalogue change.
What you gain
Stores that stay in sync
Products, stock and content align between stores, under your rules: no forgotten sheets, no divergence.
Catalogues duplicated in minutes
A full category with its products, images and positions is duplicated to another store in one operation.
Prices driven per market
Per-country, per-currency and per-store coefficient with psychological rounding: pricing strategy follows the market, not the spreadsheet.
No SEO cannibalisation
hreflang tags per store and language, generated automatically: Google understands which version belongs to which market.
Visitors land in the right place
The country switcher with clickable flags lands every visitor on the right store, currency and language.
From install to results
-
Define the architecture
One store per country, brand or channel: only separate where catalogue, prices or legal framework genuinely differ.
-
Set up synchronisation
Set per-field rules while the catalogue is small: today's rules prevent tomorrow's drift.
-
Duplicate with tooling
Category duplication instead of manual work: a new market opens in days, not months.
-
Drive prices per market
Per-country coefficient and psychological rounding: prices that follow the market.
-
Lock down the SEO
hreflang per store-language pair and a front-office country switcher: Google and visitors find the right version.
“We spent two years copying products between four stores by hand. With synchronisation and category duplication, we opened the fifth store in a week instead of two months.”
Frequently asked questions
Multistore or just several languages?
Multistore separates storefronts (domains, catalogues, prices, customers) on one installation. Several languages on one store are enough when the offer and prices stay identical. As soon as assortment, prices or legal entity differ per market, multistore is the clean answer.
How does synchronisation between stores work?
You define synchronisation rules per field: description, price, stock, images. A product can share the same stock everywhere while carrying its own prices and copy per store. Synchronisation then runs automatically on every change.
Can I copy a full category to a new store?
Yes. Duplication carries products, images, combinations, positions and subcategories in one operation, with a report of every association created. What used to cost days in the back office takes minutes.
How do I manage different prices per country?
The per-country coefficient multiplies the base price and rounds psychologically (9.90 instead of 9.73). You maintain one catalogue, each market gets its price list, and per-product exceptions remain possible at any time.
Why does image upload fail in the multistore back office?
It is a known core bug: in multistore, the tainted canvas of the Dropzone upload blocks image editing in the back office. The fix module solves it without touching the core.
Is this compatible with PrestaShop 9?
Yes. The whole selection covers PrestaShop 8.0 to 9.x in multistore mode, using native hooks and no core overrides.
