A detailed look at how PrestaShop Pack VAT Module 8/9: One Tax Rate and Price per Product works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.
The problem with native packs
In PrestaShop, a pack is a product like any other: one price, one tax rules group. As soon as the bundle mixes products with different VAT rates, the invoice is wrong, and therefore non-compliant. The pack table only stores the product and the quantity, nothing about component prices or taxes. This module adds exactly what is missing: a price, a discount and the real VAT rate for each product inside the pack.
Two invoicing modes, your choice
In exploded lines mode, the order replaces the pack line with one line per component: each line carries its reference, its base price, its discount and its own VAT rate. Invoices and accounting exports are natively correct. In single line mode, the customer sees one Pack line, but the invoice tax details are rewritten with one row per rate: the VAT breakdown is exact to the cent, whatever rounding mode the shop uses.
Discounts visible everywhere
Each component accepts a discount as a tax excl. amount or a percentage. The customer sees it everywhere: crossed out price, discount and price paid on the order confirmation page and in the account history, and a dedicated table on the PDF invoice with base price, discount amount, percentage and price after discount. No more pack promotions invisible on documents.
Fast configuration
Everything happens on the pack product page, in the Modules panel. Base prices are prefilled from the catalog price of each product, combinations included, with a button to resync them. You type the tax excl. or the tax incl. price, the other field is computed with the component rate. The pack total updates live, and one click aligns the pack catalog price with the component sum.
Exact to the cent, without hacks
The module overrides the native pack price calculation: the price displayed in the shop becomes the exact sum of the components, tax excl. and tax incl. Rounding differences are absorbed according to the shop rounding mode, and accounting is anchored on the amount actually paid. No hijacked specific prices, no theme modification, no external dependency: unconfigured packs keep the native behavior.
