A detailed look at how Saved Searches & New Product Alerts Module for PrestaShop 8/9 works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.
Turn a search into a re-engagement channel
A visitor looks for a product you don't stock yet, or wants to be told about your next arrivals in a specific range. Rather than losing them, let them save their search: they'll come back on their own, at the right time, the day you publish a product that matches. Every saved search becomes a qualified touchpoint, triggered by the offer rather than by a mass campaign.
Targeted alerts, never spam
On save, the module logs the products already online that match the criteria. The customer is then only alerted about arrivals published after their save, and never twice for the same product. The result: consistently relevant emails, focused on what the customer is actually waiting for.
Built for GDPR, from the first line
The email alert relies on an explicit opt-in, unchecked by default, with clear consent wording. Unsubscribing takes one click, without logging in, via a signed link. The module integrates with PrestaShop's GDPR hooks for data export and deletion, and automatically purges saved searches when a customer account is removed.
A self-hosted digest, no external service
Sending alerts is driven by a token-secured cron task to schedule on your server. Each search defines its frequency — daily or weekly — and sends are processed in batches to stay light. No third-party service, no data leaving your store: everything stays with you.
Built for PrestaShop 8, 9 and B2B
No-Composer, no-framework architecture, manual PSR-4 autoloader, a classic admin controller and vanilla JS for seamless PS8/PS9 compatibility, single store or multistore, across the catalogue's five languages. A natural asset for repeat buyers and B2B: your professional customers automatically follow new arrivals in their ranges, alongside your quote and multi-user account modules.
