PrestaShop Checkout & Payment

Delivery Time Slots for PrestaShop 8 & 9: Slot Booking with Capacity and Click & Collect

Customers pick their slot, your delivery rounds stay within what you can really deliver.

A caterer delivers from 8 am to 8 pm in two-hour slots, with at most 10 deliveries per slot. Without a module, the customer writes "Saturday lunchtime if possible" in the order comment and the round overflows. With this module, the customer sees the days and slots still available, each slot closes by itself when it is full, and in the morning you print the delivery sheet grouped by time slot.

What it does

The short version.

01

Slots that close by themselves

You set the number of orders per slot and, if needed, a limit for the whole day. A full slot shows as "Full" at checkout. The chosen slot is held for the customer during payment (30 minutes by default), and a database lock prevents two customers from taking the last place at the same moment.

02

A clear checkout, on mobile too

Under the carrier, the customer scrolls through the days and sees free slots, the last places, any fee and the earliest slot. Keyboard navigation works, the accent color follows your theme, and the Continue button stays blocked until a slot is chosen.

03

Home delivery or store pickup

Each zone works in delivery or pickup mode, with its carriers, countries and postcodes. The minimum lead time, order cut-off time and preparation time decide the first slot offered. A cake made to order can add 2 days of lead time to the whole cart.

04

In the morning, everything is ready

The planning shows the next 14 days, the fill rate of each slot and orders grouped by time slot, with address, phone and delivery instructions. You print the delivery sheet, export to CSV, filter the order list by delivery date and find the slot on the invoice and the delivery slip.

The long version

Everything you'd want to know before you install.

A detailed look at how Delivery Time Slots for PrestaShop 8 & 9: Slot Booking with Capacity and Click & Collect works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.

§ 01

Why a delivery slot matters so much for fresh products

PrestaShop handles carriers and shipping costs, but no delivery day or time. For a grocery, a caterer or a greengrocer it is the key information: a fresh product must arrive when someone is home to receive it. This module adds a real choice of day and time slot at checkout and refuses to confirm the step until the choice is made.

§ 02

Capacity that follows your delivery rounds

Each slot accepts a number of orders that you set, and a zone can have a limit for the whole day. On busy days you raise the capacity of a slot for that date only from the planning, or close a slot when a driver is missing. Cancelled orders free their place automatically.

§ 03

Zones, lead times and closing days

A zone groups postcodes, countries and carriers. The first day offered takes into account the minimum lead time, the order cut-off time and the preparation time. Products made to order add their extra days, and public holidays or annual leave are closed in a few clicks, once or every year.

§ 04

Store pickup and slot fees

A zone in pickup mode shows "Choose your pickup day and time" and adapts the emails. To charge for an express or evening slot, the fee is added to the cart on a separate line with its own tax, because PrestaShop cannot add an amount to the shipping cost of a native carrier without an override. It therefore appears on the invoice and in the amount collected.

§ 05

From the order to the delivery round

The slot is saved with the order and visible wherever you need it: daily planning, order page, filterable column of the order list, PDF invoice and delivery slip, confirmation emails. The day before, a reminder email tells the customer the slot and the delivery address.
