PrestaShop Marketing & Promotions

Post-Purchase Survey for PrestaShop 8 & 9: How Did You Hear About Us?

Your customers tell you where they come from, the report tells you what it is worth.

Since iOS 14, cookie refusals and the slow death of third-party tracking, your analytics attributes fewer and fewer sales. Self-declared attribution solves the problem from the other end: you ask the customer directly, at the one moment they are free, right after checkout. The module asks the question on the order confirmation page, records the answer in one click, then matches every channel with the revenue actually collected. Customers who leave without answering get a reminder email where each answer is a direct link.

Post-Purchase Survey for PrestaShop 8 & 9: How Did You Hear About Us?
v2.0.0 · updated 2026-09-24
What it does

The short version.

01

One question, one click, no friction

The block sits under the order summary, with answers rendered as clickable pills. No form to fill in, no account to create: the customer answers in a second, or skips.

02

Revenue per channel, not just a count of answers

Every declared channel is matched with the tax-excluded revenue of the orders behind it. A channel worth 10 % of answers but 25 % of revenue shows up immediately through the index displayed next to it.

03

Email reminder with one-click answers

Customers who did not answer receive an email where each channel is a link. The click records the answer and opens a thank-you page: the response rate goes up without asking anything more of the customer.

04

Declared answers against detected sources

Optionally, the module keeps the first UTM source or referring site of the visit, first-party, with no third-party script. The report crosses both and shows the share of sales no cookie-based tracking would have attributed.

The long version

Everything you'd want to know before you install.

A detailed look at how Post-Purchase Survey for PrestaShop 8 & 9: How Did You Hear About Us? works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.

§ 01

Why declared attribution matters again

Between cookie refusals, blockers, intelligent tracking prevention on Safari and modelled conversions from ad platforms, a growing share of your sales is no longer tied to a reliable source. Meanwhile every platform happily claims the same sale. Asking the customer how they heard about you does not replace your tracking, but it gives a second measurement, independent from cookies and readable by everyone in the company.

§ 02

An answer collected at the right moment

The confirmation page is the one moment when the customer has finished buying and has nothing left to do. The module places a single question there, with answers as pills. One click is enough, the block is replaced by a thank-you message, and the answer is recorded for every order coming from the same cart when a delivery is split. Customers who skip can still answer later from the order details in their account.

§ 03

Revenue instead of a raw count

Counting answers per channel is not enough: one channel brings many small orders, another brings a few large ones. For every channel the report shows the share of answers, the tax-excluded revenue converted to the default currency, the average order value, the number of new customers and a revenue-to-answers index. Above 100, the channel brings more revenue than its share of answers suggests. An estimated revenue column extends the observed mix to all tracked orders, including customers who did not answer.

§ 04

The reminder that lifts the response rate

One customer in two leaves the confirmation page without answering. The module sends them a single email, after the delay you choose, in which every answer is a clickable link. The click records the answer with no form and no login. Sending is capped per run, ignores orders that are too old and respects the frequency cap, so it never turns into a mass campaign.

§ 05

What tracking never sees

Enable source detection and the module keeps the first UTM source or referring site of the visit in the existing shop session cookie, with no third-party script and no pixel. The report then crosses the declared answer with that detected source and shows the share of orders that arrived with no identifiable source at all. That is exactly the area no ad platform bills to anyone, and the one the survey lights up.
