The long version

Everything you'd want to know before you install.

A detailed look at how PrestaShop Brand Logo Carousel Module 8/9: Logo Slider, Marquee and Brand Logo Wall works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.

§ 01

8 ways to show your brands

The carousel scrolls 1 to 3 rows of logos with arrows, dots and optional autoplay. The marquee keeps logos gliding without a stop on 1 to 4 rows, with different brands on each row and every other row running the other way, the effect you see on "trusted by" pages. The vertical marquee moves columns of logos up and down. The grid, the logo wall with thin dividers, the rotating wall, the chips and the A-Z directory cover the other uses, from a sidebar to a page listing all your brands.

§ 02

The right brands, in the right order

A block can show all active brands, a selection you order by drag and drop, the brands with products in a category and its subcategories, or those of the category being viewed: on the Shoes page, only shoe brands appear. A minimum product count, set to 1 by default, leaves out brands whose page would be empty. Sorting is by name, product count, sales over the period you choose, newest first or at random. The random order is drawn in the browser, so a full-page cache keeps working.

§ 03

Clean logos, even on colored backgrounds

PrestaShop stores brand logos as JPG files on a white background, which leaves white rectangles on a grey card or a dark section. The Brand logos tab lets you upload a transparent PNG, WebP or SVG version of each logo, used in every block. SVG files containing scripts, event handlers or external links are refused, and the upload folder is protected. On light cards, the Remove white backgrounds option makes the white of JPG files disappear without any upload. Each brand can also point to a page of your choice instead of its PrestaShop page.

§ 04

Anywhere in the shop

Each block picks its hook among 14 common locations or a display hook typed by hand, which is registered automatically. It can be restricted to some page types and some devices. For a precise spot, the widget tag shows a given block in any template, the displayDfBrandCarousel hook can be called from the theme, and the [dfbrandcarousel id="3"] shortcode drops a block into a CMS page. Layouts rely on container queries: placed in a sidebar, a block switches to its compact version with no extra setting.

§ 05

An editor with a live preview

The back office lists your blocks, which you enable, duplicate and reorder by drag and drop. The editor groups the settings in 5 tabs (Content, Layout, Style, Motion, Display) and shows a preview next to them that refreshes on every change, at desktop, tablet or mobile width. Modes are presented as illustrated cards. An indicator flags unsaved changes and Ctrl+S saves without leaving the editor. The Integration tab gives the widget, hook and shortcode codes of each block, ready to copy.

§ 06

Light and accessible

The module uses no jQuery, no Swiper and no library loaded from a CDN. The carousel relies on the browser's native scrolling and the marquee on the Web Animations API. CSS and JS are loaded only on pages where a block can appear. Animations stop when the block leaves the screen, a pause button meets WCAG 2.2.2, and visitors who turned animations off see still logos they can scroll by hand. The copies used to loop the marquee are hidden from screen readers and excluded from keyboard navigation.
