A detailed look at how DataFirefly Back to Top works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.
A small detail that changes the experience
On long pages (categories, product pages, blog posts), visitors often have to scroll back up manually. The Back to Top button appears as soon as they scroll and brings them back to the top of the page in a single, smooth click.
Built for performance
The module relies on native JavaScript of around 1.5 KB, with no jQuery or external library. Scroll tracking uses requestAnimationFrame and a passive listener, for no perceptible impact on Core Web Vitals.
Customizable without touching code
From the back office, set the position, size, shape (from square to circle), icon, idle and hover colors, shadow and trigger threshold. A Behavior tab and an Appearance tab gather all the settings.
Accessible and respectful
The button is a native element with an ARIA label and visible keyboard focus. It respects the reduced-motion preference and stores no personal data.
