Create “A vs B” Product Comparison Pages on PrestaShop 8 & 9: Indexable SEO Comparisons

“A vs B” pages that capture comparison searches, with your products in them.

Shoppers type “iPhone 15 vs Galaxy S24” right before they buy. Those searches go to blogs and price comparison sites, not to your shop, because a PrestaShop session comparator has no fixed URL and no indexable content. This module creates real comparison pages for two or three products: a clean URL in each language, SEO tags, structured data, a table that reads well on mobile, your verdict and an add-to-cart button in each column.

At a glance
  • Public pages comparing 2 or 3 products, with a URL translated per language: /en/compare/a-vs-b
  • Canonical, hreflang, Open Graph, JSON-LD and a dedicated XML sitemap with alternates
  • Clear table: price, customer ratings, stock, editorial criteria, features, sticky bar, no scrolling on mobile
  • Verdict, recommended product, FAQ, related comparisons and links from product pages
  • Pairs generated from a category, Google preview and duplicate blocking in the back office

Create “A vs B” Product Comparison Pages on PrestaShop 8 & 9: Indexable SEO Comparisons
v1.0.0 · updated 2026-09-24
What it does

The short version.

01

One URL per language, built for Google

Each comparison has its own address: /en/compare/iphone-15-vs-galaxy-s24, /de/vergleich/..., /es/comparativa/... The prefix is translated in the settings. Canonical, hreflang with x-default, 301 redirect to the canonical address and a per-page noindex option are handled automatically.

02

A table that helps people choose

Price with struck-through price and the best price marked, average rating and number of reviews, availability, brand, your editorial criteria with the best value marked, product features and dimensions. A switch hides identical rows and a bar with the products stays visible while scrolling.

03

Readable on mobile, even with three products

Below 768 px, each row shows its label above the values: three products fit the screen width with no horizontal scrolling. The add-to-cart buttons stay aligned at the bottom of each column.

04

Produce pages fast without duplicates

Generate every pair among the top products of a category, duplicate a comparison to use it as a template, and check the result in the Google preview with character counters. Two comparisons covering the same products are refused so they do not compete with each other.

The long version

A detailed look at how Create “A vs B” Product Comparison Pages on PrestaShop 8 & 9: Indexable SEO Comparisons works, why we built it the way we did, and the thinking behind the features above.

§ 01

“A vs B” searches happen right before the purchase

Someone searching for “Dyson V15 vs V12” has already narrowed their choice to two models. These searches are very close to conversion, yet shops leave them to blogs and price comparison sites. The native comparator or a session comparator cannot rank: the page changes with each visitor, has no stable URL and is not meant to be indexed. This module creates fixed pages that you write and that Google can rank.

§ 02

A complete SEO page with no technical setup

Each comparison has a slug per language and a translated prefix, with the canonical tag, hreflang tags and a 301 redirect when the page is reached through another address. The breadcrumb goes through a listing page of all comparisons. The JSON-LD describes the page, the breadcrumb, the list of compared products with a link to each product page, and your questions and answers. A dedicated sitemap to submit in Search Console lists every page with its language versions.

§ 03

Editorial content that makes the difference

A page that only holds a feature table rarely ranks. The module lets you write an introduction, a verdict and criteria based on your own expertise, for example “Real battery life | 18 h* | 12 h”, with the best value marked. Questions and answers are shown as an accordion and marked up. You can pick a recommended product, highlighted in the table and in the verdict.

§ 04

A table that reads on a phone

Comparison pages are often viewed on mobile, where horizontally scrolling tables become tedious. Here, below 768 px, each row shows its label above the values and three products fit the screen width. A bar with the name and price of each product stays visible while scrolling, and visitors can hide identical rows to keep only what sets the products apart.

§ 05

Dozens of pages without cannibalization

The generator creates one comparison for each pair among the top 2 to 12 products of a category, with titles and slugs in every language, skipping existing pairs. Pages are created unpublished so you can complete them before publishing. The back office shows a Google result preview, counts the views of each page and refuses a second comparison on the same products, so two pages do not fight for the same searches.
